New member from Indiana

Hello, my name is Steven.  My wife and I currently live in Indiana, but are originally from Ohio.  Over the last few months I developed an interest in real estate investing.  I have a good job as an air traffic controller, but I want to secure an even better future for my family by earning passive income through real estate.  The area I am most interested in is rental properties.  I have read several books including: the rich dad poor dad series, ABC's to real estate investing, BiggerPockets The Book on Rental Property Investing, and am getting ready to start The Book on Investing in Real Estate with Low or No Money Down.  I want to continue to grow my knowledge and hopefully learn from many of you.  My ultimate goal is to buy my first property sometime this year.  Currently we do not have very much capital, so I am exploring my options to finance properties.  I would love to hear from any of you who have advice in this area.  Thank you, and I look forward to starting my path into real estate investing.
