Also it depends on what KP is bringing to the table and to what extend: experience (how many years, is it directly related); balance sheet (full vs partial deal coverage), as well as whether they are going to be handling anything or much in a deal.

I've since learned that the insurance policy I was setup with (through Lloyd's of London) is not good coverage and there were significant policy changes made on the first year of renewal that were not communicated to me by Ross and I am only just now finding out about them while going through a claim and getting less coverage than I expected.

If you decide to buy in these areas, understand the risk involved and be prepared to write it off if you get unlucky.In lower risk lava zones, getting coverage isn't nearly so difficult or expensive with standard homeowners insurance.
