I played around with some of the ways of looking at value in the Introduction to Real Estate Analysis article by J Scott, but whenever I think of an offer I get worried I am either insulting him or giving away all my hard work (3 years of time assembling lots and getting it through city approvals, and serving as an uncompensated GC for net zero energy certification and most of the site work).

A “company” that wastes their marketing dollars mailing to houses where title transferred in the last three months and that appear to be active construction sites isn’t one I could see myself sitting down with.

What should I be looking for when I'm browsing sites such as Realtor.com?

Have them syndicate to their affiliate sites. 

In the meantime, I would like know where to look for decent contractors to perform some light repair and renovation work?

That guy used several different sites simultaneously so that he could play with different prices and advertising strategies to see what worked best.
