I'm a geospatial software developer in San Diego with a background in commercial real estate and land development.

I switched from managing my properties myself using a property management software to going with a property management company that uses their own software.The challenge I have is that all of the detail on repairs and expenses are in their system.  

The house in perfect condition and the house next door that looks perfect on the outside, but has three feet of water in the basement every time it rains will have the same assessed value.

That being said, I would think that one would want to use some sort of software system that has what your real estate investing business needs all in one location ie: lists of sellers and buyers, tracking of direct marketing / marketing campaigns, neighborhood comps, documents / contracts etc.....  

I am also a software developer, and although @Keanan Koppenhaver has the right idea if you go with Wordpress, Wordpress may become the project instead of helping the project.1) Building credibility, have you considered out of the box solutions that may be simpler an extend your reach.

Any software or cpa will walk you through it.

From the sounds of it, I am guessing you are tracking your income and expenses in Excel and not an accounting software....
