Instead of paying rent and throwing that money out the window, I really want to get into house hacking as an alternative to start my REI journey.

Which is why it helps any offer if you can throw in a "resume".Otherwise, I'll just get the tenants in a turmoil about selling and have to post notice and you may not even show up.I'm a broker, so I only get paid if I close, so I'm not discouraging deals, but be realistic and consider there's a SELLER and BUYER involved in any deal.

Some on BP will disagree, but both of my sons had academic and athletic D1 scholarships, and it would have made zero sense to throw those away.

You can easily throw an extra $100 more a month that accelerates that loan to save over $9K in interest.I see this every day where a borrower decides to take a 15YR over a 30YR to be on track for an early pay off.

Honestly, I have heard it argued every which way and even had lawyers suggest one or the other, the someone throws in the need for a trust to further anonymity.  

Deciding on a city to buy and hold for the next 30 years seems somewhat like throwing darts blindfolded.So, BP members with a super-long-term approach, which strategy and locations do you recommend? 

Aging owner/operator, throwing people into units hoping someone stuck, doing all the maintenance and work themselves (also means done improperly or not done in most cases) For us, it was the right choice to close but we had all our info up front and the purchase price reflected the work load ahead.
