It is very sad for a investor to read that someone has stuffed their money under a mattress where it is earning absolutely no income, It is not earning it's keep lying dead and buried in a property, rental or personal, it needs to be flogged.

The only way is if I had a dead space none of the national to regional tenants wanted and was already at 90% occupancy for a strip center.

I am literally at a dead end here and I am wondering if BP members have come across a similar situation to this....Myself and another investor own 2 properties, paid in full.  

When the mortgagor is dead what is standard protocol for a mortgagee to do?

Paying cash means you are receiving a return on that cash at the present mortgage interest rate.Your cash is being abused by not earning it's keep, lying dead in a property earning next to nothing.Pull it out, spread it around with minimum DPs and make it work for you.If you can borrow money at a lower rate than you can invest it that is the entire principal behind investing.
