They qualify you based on how much money the rental property pays you (rental income).If it's your primary home, then either pay off some low-balance credit cards/car loans/other loans to lower your monthly debt--or explore strategies to increase your income (feel free to message me for more info on this).

Also, not all condos in NY will allow a down payment of less than 10%.Full disclosure: I am not sure how all of this will play out in NJ when it comes to looking for condos.That being said, I think it takes sense to explore multifamily options in NY or NJ when taking your dream/goal into consideration.

I’m currently trying to find as many podcasts, books, articles, people, etc to learn as much as possible so as soon as I start getting paychecks I can hit the ground running.
