He actually apologized and said he would have called me first but he did not know I was there yet (long story, not his fault, the bailiff I checked in with didn't tell him).  

I think new people get intimidated, which is understandable but when i started I told people straight up i was new and didn't make any apologies and of course you might not have some people take you seriously but that has really been the exception, most people are happy to help.
