Memphis similar to most cities is very diverse and the neighborhoods can range from being very safe to not safe.

I understand why as its all the same reasons I moved here three years ago - mild weather (for FL anyway), still more affordable than south FL, gorgeous beaches, bustling economy, huge growth, tons of diversity.
