If they replaced one refrigerator, but PLAN to replace all of them, along with full kitchen remodels, etc, that could be stretched to "going through renovation".There are many reasons why you may be getting a higher value than the asking price.

I have a 50y/o house that we have been living in, 3+ years ago we had the kitchen remodeled including the floors in our living room, one of the primary issues we have before the remodel was the hard wood squeaks in some areas so we decided to have it fixed and also to put in wood look porcelain tiles.

Removed debris and overgrowth on property, new siding, windows, exterior doors, total gut of interior including removing walls and re-engineering structure to support roof trusses and ceiling joists, rebuilt staircase to accommodate new kitchen design, replaced entire block foundation wall that was heaving inward, replaced sewer drains in entire home including underground, drain tiled, and rebuilt both bathrooms and prepared current garage to be remodeled to become master bedroom and bath suite.
