I put a small piece of sticky foam in between fan motor and the top.Noise was virtually gone from the fan and it worked fine.Some fans even when working properly produce noise as they are the cheaper ones.

They kept "picking" people at random from the group, ok I gotta paint this picture for you - the people who answered the ad to work in real estate (like me) were wearing one of those sticky name tags you buy for $5 at Staples, the "PROFESSIONALs" were wearing Nouveau Riche gold name tags.

I lived in NJ and it can get sticky hot but I never lived anywhere with central AC in NJ.On the other hand... if your bathrooms are really bad you will get more mileage out of losing the pink tile then central air.
