Or you can open the long front panel to cut or clip wires.This might be a coincidence, but I did just rent to a new tenant...As a first step, I am thinking to get some tamper-evident tape to seal the equipment door and the long front panel.

One thing we did discover is (this property doesn’t have a basement it’s on a slab), because of the pet urine soaking into the concrete after cleaning, bleaching… we sealed it with Kilz oil based sealer to lock in/out the odors and ran my Ozone machine for a month to help with the smell.The Bear Paint distributor for Home Depot said we should have used water based Kilz and not oil based.

Joel Stell if your planning on repairing the drywall make sure you put up one coat of primer just to seal the tape and joints.

Light to moderate smoke damage to walls/ceilings can many times be sealed over and painted, but of course it all depends on the extent of it and the amount of time and condition of the environment since the fire.
