My plan when I move back to Ventura County next summer is to go to a CC, collect $2250 in BAH every month, live at home for free, work for my father ($700-1000) per week, and then actively seek an investment property, preferably a MFR. 

But with that said, the SFV is a strong market for entry level homes and of course some luxury in areas along/south of Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, and into the Conejo Valley.

And of course the ace up my sleeve is that I'm actually willing to knock off another 50k of my equity if that's what it takes to get the deal done and me my money.

I am a civil engineer but further up the coast in Ventura County.What are you looking to do?

@David GwiltI'd be in Ventura County so I might get my primary res there and buy something elsewhere I still have to brainstorm a little bit and see what my living conditions will be with school and work at the time.

@Ellis San Jose is the real deal, he runs at least one of the For Investors By Investors groups out in my Los Angeles/Ventura County area, if my memory serves.

You can also go to a local paint store like Sherwin Williams, Ace Hardware, even hardscaping companies and there is usually a place they have local business cards displayed.
