Just having a high school diploma will most likely not lead to a high-paying job due to the decrease in manufacturing in the USA.

Costs are different, economies of scale have effects, budgetary constraints vary, heck, pride of ownership makes a significant difference in your expenses!

Add to that the allure of California, great economy in so cal, the ocean, amusement parks, medical centers, high tech, manufacturing, entertainment, recreation, sports teams, universities, etc., and it all creates a strong demand for housing and commercial space. 

Vector graphics can be scaled up or down without loss of quality whereas jpg or gif files cannot in print work.
