I'm just not real sure what to expect from a company that will "manage" the account for me and possibly help with suggestions on investment choices.Anybody currently have a self-directed retirement plan of some sort that you could share some insight on?

I am recently retired from a career in clinical laboratory testing.

My profile is incomplete but I'm a journalist hoping to retire in 4 years or less by investing in real estate. 

I have invested countless hours into deciding my goals and figuring out my real purpose for making REI my career -- retiring my parents.

I'm right now sitting on the balcony of an ocean-facing condo in Kuaui with my bride (it's our honeymoon), and I've realized that my normal 9-5 job is not going to get me where I want to be - namely, sitting in an ocean-facing condo full time when I retire the day before my 60th birthday. 

MY broker does both, but he's retired and it's more like a hobby to him.  

Currently I am trying to find a win-win situation by locating an owner of a walk-up who is ready to retire or move on for some reason, but would still want monthly income from the property.I have turned to bigger pockets to learn and give back.  

My goal is to replace my income as soon as possible as well as invest for retirement.  

Ultimately I'd like to built enough wealth to retire early.As I mentioned earlier I'm interested in flipping.
