Virtually all reverse mortgage products are insured by AIG or some other reinsurance entity.

Not bad but could be a lot better but likely better requires more effort than what you have exerted for the 7% return.You could keep the property with virtually no effort and do OK. 

I am virtually at ground zero with my note investing business but I have thought about compensating for the few disadvantages of notes (lack of tax deductions, impermanence, etc.) by including buy and hold investing.
