Actually, you'd have to throw the phrase, "Preserve our property values" into the above quote approximately 10-12 times, because HOA board members have a fixation on preserving property values (something mostly not within their control) that borders on the absurd.  

I wanted to be prepared to speak intelligently about my options when I had to cross that bridge.
