I have accesss to a pretty skilled labor pool that's willing to do good work for not that much money so that hasn't been too big of a problem.I wouldn't mind possibly investing out of state if I could find the right deal.

Btw, with 3-4 skilled people and 10 hours per day, I would expect this to take about 3 weeks, so it sounds like he's pretty much on-schedule...

Its sometimes hard to keep up with everything as my husband has to do all the talk (my Russian skills are not fluent enough), and we have to deal with making calls at odd hours...kudos to the foreign investors on BP for doing this all the time :)

An appraiser is not a home inspector or contractor, and not particularly skilled in estimating repair costs, especially if the defect is hard to detect.

Plus what Jon and MikeOH have said - the ability to follow simple instructions and write down the things they need to do is so vital; when they can't do those simple things, they aren't going to do too well filling out your application either, or getting rents paid on time, or putting trash out properly, etc.You should shorten the time for an appt as well, 1/2 hour should be more than enough to walk through the place.

I've done sound system installations and soundproofing so I hope to be able to apply those skills as well as my service tech experience at doing electrical work, plumbing (water and steam), and construction to the real estate field.
