FWIW, the landlord's existing insurer unofficially said they would cancel his entire policy if they found out he there was a STR operating there.Any thoughts/ideas from the group would be so appreciated!

That would be $50 to remove a tenant and another $50 to add a Tenant.One other thing in my policy: at least one of the original Tenants must remain in place for the full term of the lease and I'll only allow a roommate swap once per lease.

Brett,If your Insurance policy is based on Replacement Cost (RC), they will not normally pay that amount for the building until you have rebuilt.
