I know hindsight is 20/20, but as you were approaching the financing deadline, your realtor probably should have advised you to ask for an extension which would have saved you a grand.

If, and only if, it is done correctly, which is more likely to happen with a couple of grand.

@Greg Hall yes they foreclosed on a current loan and sat on it playing their usual lender foreclosure games for close to 2 years and sold it for $25 grand less than was owed on it at the time..

For example in Cleveland, Ohio (which I believe to be relatively landlord friendly in the grand scheme of things) we also have to mail interest payments to tenants.
