LandLords in the Bronx

Hello all,

Are their any on site landlords (owner)  here on BP that has made a deal on a duplex or triplex multifamily property in the Bronx?

If so , would you have any advise for someone who wants to get into a duplex or triplex as a primary residence/investment ?

Also what neighborhood would you agree is a decent one that will attract decent tenants?

Any and all advise would be helpful and great.

Thank you all.

@Virgilio Garcia of course no problem.  So I purchased the property from some Israeli investors back in 2006.  It was a 4 unit with a 2 bedroom in the basement.  The basement was a short walk down so not fully "below ground" sorta speak.  So it was iffy on whether it was rentable.  I rented it.  Got $1,000 a month for it actually.  Anyway, the other units were a studio plus, a one-bedroom and two 2-bedrooms.  The house was a 2 block walk from the #3 train.  The block was lined with similar homes and 1 other one was for sale.  It was all good.  Problem was crime rate was high, not on the block but it spilled over.  My tenant check could have been more thorough.  The whole thing imploded.  I didn't test the sewer.  It went shortly after I bought it.....like 4-5 months later and I had to replace it.  Market started tanking, people started losing their jobs and my tenants stopped paying.  It was a mess.  I don't mind answering any questions you may have.  But that's the nutshell of the story.
