After all the obstacles, I was able to buy a house in Staten Island 2 weeks ago,  I am living in one unit and plan to rent out the other unit.  

As the subject says, I am highly interested in learning more about Real Estate in Honolulu Hawaii and how to be successful on this island of ours.

@Brian Burke  one of my long time business partners in Honolulu does this.. they create investments for clients and put solar on condo projects in the Islands.. it works there because cost of elec is highest in the country.. and for those living in Hawaii the tax break is pretty fabulous..

If you’re willing to check out Queens and Long Island you’d have better luck.

I'm  a native New Yorker and lived in long island, the south Bronx and the lower-east of Manhattan during the 70's.  

Also, consider joining Long Island Real Estate Investing Association. 

Puerto Rico is in a decade long recession, and my gut tells me that there are many real estate opportunities across the Island that once the economy gets back on track, the properties will appreciate greatly. 

Account Closed what about Staten Island?

Unless this property is on an exotic Island, or could be knocked down transformed into a higher rent strip mall or something, It doesn't look like a great deal unless it's bought for 1 Million.
