Multi Family in Staten Island / North Shore Developments

I bought a multi-family after many obstacles in the process.  I lost time waiting on a short sale in NJ and then I backed out of a deal because the house was in a flood zone.  After all the obstacles, I was able to buy a house in Staten Island 2 weeks ago,  I am living in one unit and plan to rent out the other unit.  I have never been a landlord and I'm a bit nervous about it but love the idea of using a multi family to get started in real estate.

I'm new to Staten Island and need to find reliable contractors, I'd appreciate any referrals from the BiggerPocket's Nation. And any advice as I'm a first time multi family homeowner.

With all the major developments happening in the North Shore of Staten Island on the waterfront (NY Wheel/Empire Outlets/URL/LightHouse Point/Bay St Corridor/The Accolade), I'm wondering if anyone on BiggerPockets is investing in Staten Islands north shore?
