Financially, I understand that the purchase price and all in monthly expenses should account for that % fee if we choose to go that route, but one thing that was communicated that rubbed me an interesting way was "Owning a vacation rental unit is not a get rich quick scheme.

The general public seems to empathize with tenants against landlords, because everyone assumes landlords are "rich"!

And just like with the food, everyone has their own taste buds, the same applies to investments - there's an appetite for every offering type as long as you know your audience. 

I think @Brandon Turner has said it many times - you're not going to get rich off your first deal and you're not going to go bankrupt either. 

If I had a dollar every time a tenant pulled the "attorney card" I may be a rich man by now.
