I have been interviewing GC's, getting references from them, examples of projects they have completed, and anaylizing if they are "investor friendly".

I learned from other investors that they will rarely refer contractors as it takes time away from their projects.

But every reno project I've ever done has a list of "I wish I'd have done that different" items. 

(easy to think)"Don't get emotional, invest in projects where the numbers make sense."

After remodeling I hope to tap into the forced equity to fund other projects and also rent or sell when I move away in a few years.
