I've enjoyed and learned a lot from the content here and my plan is to find some more specific information about real estate investing in Houston and communicate with people in that area so that I am able to hit the ground running when I get home.

Honestly, I enjoy doing a lot of the physical work, and lawn work can be scheduled around vacations very easily.

In my mind, going overboard in decorating ONLY makes sense if you don't intend to sell (as is the case you have described)....so you get to enjoy the fruits of your labors (and money spent).
