I am thinking about buying a rental investment property in Tampa in the $300K range that I can cash flow from and build equity in, while still saving money by renting here.

For example, I'm not too sure about how to actually find good deals/distressed properties, and how to actually find appropriate property managers, CPAs, lawyers, etc.I think once I get started and inertia starts to build up, things will make more sense, but it's that first step that I'm finding difficult. 

Hi @Rabia Khan,To answer that question, it would be up to whether you can afford a single-family home, or if you would like the idea of not caring for the outside of the building and common areas.

Correctly implemented, the resulting property value would exceed 200k, but I am looking to keep the building in the family. 

Estimates we are getting from the contractors to build in 2 legal units is between $110k-$150k.

The office buildings can't be used for it.

@Jeremy Rosen I am a little interested in STR but have concerns about occupancy rate, chaos from being in the same building as the renters, and the capital to not only buy, but also, furnish the STR. 

The best way to start, and the build on podcast and books, is not to buy, it's to go to local meetups and make more connections.
