I have been to Singapore... and your description is right on.. we are staying at the millinum the one with the ship built on top of it.. and the longest infinity pool in the world and I think the highest off the ground  :)I could see living in Thailand for those that like the beachs and water.. its pretty great.. warm clear sand is like baking powder..

Of course, the trade off is you probably won't see the natural appreciation of coastal cities in these markets.My advice is find a city and get to know the neighborhoods, reach out to investor friendly agents and start building a team on the ground.
