My maximum loan is about 1/3 of balance with a max of 50k, but plans vary, so you'll need to check.If your 401k is with a previous employer, you'll be able to transfer the entire balance (or partial) into a self directed IRA to use for REI.Hope this helps!

@Joe Splitrock Exactly, I also spend a few hours and verify the #'s and have found some errors like a couple things mistakenly omitted, that's one thing, but putting out a wrong date in an email to all your clients who will rely on it is quite another.

But I would check to make sure she personally has employment that covers the 3x's income/ rent, is she going to be relying on child support or spousal support that may or not get paid to make the rent?
