Hello,I own 2 houses on a lot in Los Angeles zoned as multi-family/duplex.  

I'm 30, engaged, have a great job in the tv / film industry in Los Angeles, good credit, and have about $30k I'm looking to invest if needed (though not the preferred option).

My reasoning for this is ADU appraisals are coming in low in Los Angeles County, and if my home was rezoned my home value would increase dramatically compared to a SFR with an ADU. 

I recently read about a realtor that was able to complete his ADU in Los Angeles for relatively cheap because he subcontracted every single step of the construction process and got different quotes for every job.

For some high cost counties like Los Angeles County, the super conforming loan size limit for 2021 is $822,375.This will also impact VA borrowers as well.

I am in Los Angeles so investing here is almost impossible to start with no previously generated wealth.

Maybe you are referring to a local Los Angeles Rent Control legislation.Thanks
