@Kyle,I prefer Whole Life for shorter term of my premiums (120 months), the consistent premium that I pay, the accumulated cash value, the consistent return, the ability for the dividend to carry on the account value growth after 120 months, the ability to borrow from myself, many benefits of which are also available to universal life.

Things may get bad here in the US with slow growth but I dont want to be so negative. focus on your personal economic situation having cash reserves and down pmt and getting a good deal and the other bad stuff around you probably wont matter as much like the price of gas going to 5 bucks a gallon. at least if you own a building you have a little control ..that is if there isnt a rent control in place on that building....

Now it's true that the travel cost will be higher but there are ways around that.The reason I say this is, I know there are other parts of the US with much stronger economic growth than the mid-Atlantic, and those will be better places for investment.You didn't say what you plan to do with your properties but that would be really helpful to know.

No discussion that the jobs growing were hospitality and retail - while the ones being lost were banking as Chase draws down a mortgage help center (or moves jobs to Dallas) or the cutbacks at McDill through RIF or outright pay cuts due to the sequester. 8X growth in leases signed from 2006 until now.
