I started as a reluctant SoCal landlord in 2009 when I received military orders away from my Oceanside, CA condo when the market would not pay me what I owed.  

That is enough space for 2 each 3 bedroom 2 bath units.

I feel people will give up neighborhood amenities and excess sqft before they'll sacrifice bedroom count. 

@Michaela G. this house is slightly bigger than the other houses and also has one additional bedroom and bathroom.

I have an accepted offer on a condo and my plan is to live in it for a few years (moving out from my parents house) and then look to buy a house (and house hack it) while renting out the condo. 

I recently started considering moving into an apartment with additional bedrooms which would solve our space problem within our timeline and I considered converting my home into a rental. 

Two nights ago we found black mold under two of our bedroom carpets.

Pros, cons, good areas to invest in, condos, SFH etc.?

We just got an offer accepted on a Condo on Kauai and our next move is to purchase a multi family in the Beaverton, OR area.I’m hoping to network and gain valuable insight from this forum as well as provide any personal success and challenge experience from the standpoint of an active duty military member who has purchased and sold multiple homes.

I discovered that there are flooring issues in one of the bedrooms so the contractor will need to cut the floor up to see what’s going on.
