Hi everyone,I’ve been lurking on the site for some time, but I wanted to introduce myself now that I’m making the jump into real estate investing full time.I’m not completely new to real estate investing because my brother, friend, and I have bought a handful of rental properties (all but one are SFH) in DFW over the years, but we’ve kind of done it in a slapdash and part-time way.

I went to a guru meeting where I met somebody who introduced me to BP.

Not only will you get the info you need for the duplex but you will make a contact that will hopefully have good advice and possibly introduce you to other contacts for renovation/construction, electrical, plumbing, etc for this and future projects.

We wanted to introduce ourselves to our fellow BiggerPockets people!

We dropped off a letter the day we closed introducing ourselves and going over a few items, clarification on their rent, the utilities they cover, making sure we are included on their rent insurance as an interested party, as well as the items in the apartment they own. 

It also does no harm in presenting failed offers or re-introducing yourself to owners that have said no before. if something happens, and they need to sell NOW, they will probably go to someone polite they remember.

We were introduced to a property owner that had recently purchased a strip mall.

My Uncle introduced me to a contractor he used to work with yesterday who buys cheap houses on the south and west side of Chicago and flips them or rents them out on section 8.
