As for the change over between two heat sources you can install a temp sensor to restrict when the back up can turn on, a good low voltage electrician can figure it out for you.

Hi @Jake Hinchman,The first thing you should look into is whether there are any restrictions on STRs in the area - both on the government level and in the HOA of the building you're looking at.  

There are other restrictions as well but in my experience those are the ones that I tend to run into when trying to get condos qualified with FHA.

Just curious to hear your opinions on any advantages we as investors may get to enjoy in this current market that we did not have in 2008, or vice versa- things that have since become more difficult or restrictive since the crash

I like the idea of renting basements and attics, maybe even rooms if occupancy allows, I know there are some restrictions to that.

Different brokerages, primarily the large national ones, apparently impose tighter restrictions on their agents.

This is definitely more costly than tearing down and parking an airstream in place, you are exempt from lot-line setbacks and other restrictions that would exist if you were to try and build something from scratch.
