Homeowners confirmed that they received the shock package, told door knocker that they were "underwater" and that a contractor had stole $80,000 from them, and that a lien had been put on the house as a result from a cabinet maker whom never got paid by the contractor.

A tree fell on our house after we owned it for 6 months and completely destroyed everything BUT the kitchen (which we repainted the cabinets white and got new appliances anyway so it looked fairly updated).  6 months later, we got to move into it again and a year or 2 later, foreclosure since the housing market was bad and we moved to a new state.

IMHO, the key is to find a pest control person that is knowledgeable and that you feel you can trust (after all, they will need complete access to all areas for tenting...they open all drawers, cabinets,etc. of course you CAN insist on being present for most of this).

Every time I watch the shows and read blogs about flipping most of them talk about how they change the kitchen cabinets, completely renovated the bathroom, new floors, fresh painted walls.
