Hey guys so here's the situation About 2 years back I sold a home security system to this older couple Well the other week I swing by their house to find out the Husband has past away I put out there that if they wanted to sell the house call me I'm interested and I could help them out I just got off the phone with daughter she called me asking if I was still interested I said yes I would be but I asked how much is left on the mortgage She told me about 80k And that there was a reverse mortgage on the home She said she'll call me back to confirm the price and when they are ready to move forward (within the month)I looked on Zillow and the estimated worth was 200kHow can I make this work?

Instead of agreeing to have certain things fixed, he is trying to Bill us for complete replacement that is above and beyond wear and tear.Deanna, we didn't take many move out photos unfortunately, but luckily our daughter got some video of some of the rooms to document as a goodbye for herself.

@Jonathan Farber When my daughters have a big cookie to split, one of them cuts it, and the other gets to choose which piece she wants...maybe you have the other person offer a buy out program, and you get to choose if you want to buy him out or have him buy you out.

I'm married with one adorable 15 month old daughter.

It doesn't require a lot of time, but it does require a lot mental energy, especially when things are not going well and you have to explain to other people why not.  

Today, my wife, 2 year old daughter, and I live in Arlington which is perfectly central to both Dallas and Fort Worth.  

We maintained a good relationship with the tenant, but his daughter had smoked in the unit in violation of our property rules and in so doing ruined the tub surround too.

Yeah, I think it's more mental than anything - the 300k properties are in better shape and generally in higher populated areas, but if the income isn't there (it generally isn't twice cheaper properties to justify price) , it just isn't going to make sense to get something out of budget and just hope it works.
