As to the advice of trying to sneak in the rough electrical wiring while still getting permits for the other large items, I find this advice is not very practical in most circumstances, the inspector will be there to inspect your other permitted items and there is no way to hide rough electrical rewrite of a home.

Unless you have specifically hired the inspector to give you an OPINION on a home, then what they should be doing is "calling out" items of note . . . which are present in EVERY home, regardless of age or condition.The inspector ALWAYS works for the person that hired them; either the buyer or the seller.
