JP Morgan) But if the mortgage is insured, the bank may just choose to let it foreclose so they can collect the insurance on it instead of taking a potentially  larger loss in a short sale.My experience has taught me with an HOA/Condo balance that high, there is almost zero chance of a short sale going through.

Another alternative would be to JV with someone who lives in the state side so at least 1 partner isn't too far to keep ane ye eon it.I have a property out here in BC Vancouver, but that wasn't done deliberately to be an investor... good thing I lucked out on appreciation, but to get into the market here for a neutral cashflow or slightly positive just doesn't make sense to me.I do plan to attend some upcoming local meetups and check out the scene (first time!)
