It may affect your voting precinct, tax property deductions, tax rate, income tax, etc. you generally are allowed only one homestead and that is generally your primary residence.

Additionally, we all agree that we do not plan to ever sell the land, and if we do, it will need to be a unanimous, not majority, vote.

To do this, you will want to use emotion (the look of the tall building will not fit the area - that is why the zoning limited height) - get your local rep to hear your pleas (they rely on your votes to get elected and a neighborhood has more votes than a development company).

We are basically silent partners except that every year we get together and vote on different things.

But, that being said, if you only plan on dealing with contractors that you have no issues with, prepare for a lonely existence.This guy ran his mouth so you got a sneak peek into his mind, but if he hadn't, you'd probably have already hired him.I know folks that refuse to do business with people that voted for Trump because they think everyone that voted for him hates blacks, browns or whatever isn't white.

You are probably in a good position of breaking the lease because the landlord is not properly maintaining the place.This very much sounds like a case of voting with your feet.
