My house needs a new roof now that leaks may been detected.

We've been through some pretty heavy storm damage with insurance claims, plumbing leaks, issues with the city, the whole nine, and have always been taken care of fairly and quickly. 

However, my tenant notified me that there is water leaking from the humidifier and drain so there is a small puddle underneath the furnace.

While I understand the reasons for checking pedigree, there is also the growing problem of data theft from major players on the internet, the latest in a long line being Ashley Madison (expect a few divorces when this data is leaked). 

So depending on where in the tank the hole was, bottom would spill alot vs top where only when topped off would spill, or was it the line and every time oil ran threw it leaked everywhere.

This is a very old thread, but TValue now has an online version that works on Macs, iPads, iPhones, etc.

Physical inspections would have shown the leaks.  

As a consolation, I did call their winterizing contractor back to cancel once the deal fell through and explained what happened, and he laughed and said it didn't surprise him at all, he quoted them to fix one tiny leak in a pipe in the fall so that he could adequately air blow the lines out for winterizing, but they refused to pay him to fix it, which led to water being left in the pipes and busting several more.  

Does it have any mention of the tenant needing to immediately inform you of leaks?

I have read that this is still a hazard and soil-testing should be done because the owner does not have documentation showing the tank was properly decommissioned and no leaks were detected (soil tested and cleared of spillage).
