Out of curiosity, are all MLS listings in the Houston area generally available for public view through HAR.com?

That's the first step.Here is a link to every property appraiser and public records search in the country.  

Just as in the Art of War, you need a plan, make sure your plan is compliant, that the public in the caught in the battle area is considered, that you understand the area and circumstances before attacking. :)  

These days, any place where houses are publicly listed for sale are generally not going to have very good deals. 

Martin besides unemployment, for places like the bay area, wouldn't public transit be a good indicator as well.

I have searched all of the government sites in my area, but I am unable to find a public listing of code enforcement violations.

Goodlettsville is great as far as access to the interstate goes and price, but if the public school system matters for you in the future it isn't as good as say Hendersonville.I'm not sure how far away from Nashville you'd consider, so Gallatin might be a bit far out for you as far as access to Nashville goes, but houses are less expensive there, along with quite a few investment opportunities.

I understand that this is a public forum and not necessarily typical professional communication, but if a wholesaler wrote me in that format, my immediate reaction would be to strongly doubt his professionalism.
