If I travel once a year to a house in TX I am out $500-1000 in airfare and hotel accomodations, that comes right off my bottom line and directly from the cashflow.

Actually @Melissa Nash,the mouse couldn't care less.Their hotels are quite full and doing very well.The guy spearheading the campaign is Tushar Patel,chairman of the board for Tarsidia Hotels Corp.He owns every Marriott property and half the Best Westerns in Anaheim.He is leading every small hotel owner and the angry neighborhood homeowners into fighting Airbnb to the death,and he is winning.

Hotels do not, so their fees look better than they actually are.I'd be glad to speak to someone from Bloomberg

I'd be looking to hire a former hotel manager, not a property manager. 

I am interested in hotels that need some love and attention.  

Needless to say, I left New Orleans with no deal, no house, and I was out of several hundred bucks spent on hotel, gas, food, etc.  

Extended stay hotels may get expensive and old.

Galveston recently passed an ordinance that requires all STR owners to register and collect HOT (Hotel Occupancy Tax) for the City of Galveston (9%) and state of Texas (6%) on all gross revenue.

(I’ve had my own share of Airbnb guests who expected $150 hotel room equivalents for a $50/night price - I try to filter those people out before they stay.)
