When we need to do an upgrade because of an emergency (like last week when we discovered a leaking hot water heater had caused extensive floor damage) we compensate the tenant for not being able to fully use their unit, either by a rent refund for the lost days or by putting them up in a hotel room.You are talking about extensive upgrades to the kitchen.
