Appraisers then have to expand the area they are looking at and/or make large adjustments off of other properties.I had this issue somewhat recently with a 4 unit property I renovated.

Typically these loans are for a limited term like 5, 7 or 10 years so a balloon payment is due after the term OR you can do it as a ARM (5/1, 7/1, 10/1) where the rate will adjust after the fixed period.

@Armando Neri Why do this when Fed Fund Rate is at 0% and not heading up anytime soon, thereby lowering the cost of adjustable rate financing for the foreseeable future on other adjustable rates such as Helocs?
