The downstairs is tiled and a little dumpy, but fifteen minutes from 3 universities and a lot of musicians in Nashville are looking for cheaper rentals.I was hoping someone could speak to these concerns: 1.)Lack of heat in the lower unit.2.)Ability to hear upstairs in the lower unit.3.)Road noise.4.)Rentability of downstairs unit.

I've recently moved back to the South Bay (Palo Alto, Mountain View, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, San Jose) area working my dayjob in the IT staffing industry as a recruiter and account manager with Apex Systems.I've done some research over the last year and I'd love to be able to set a 1-2 year goal of buying a multi family (2-4 unites) with an FHA or other subsidzed first time home owner loan.My target area is in Santa Clara in between the University and the Cal Train station.

It's been half years now since I graduate from Columbia University with an engineering degree, my job now is more focus on marketing.I was thinking about starting with a rental properties (Duplex or Multifamily House) around my neighborhood in NY or nearby states, the market could be very tough for a newbie like me, everybody in BP community did a good job helping people with their investment.
