BiggerPockets.com new member just getting into REI - Philadelphia, Pa

Hey fellow REIs! My name is Patrick O'Neill and I'm a general contractor/handyman and interior painter from Philadelphia, PA who has recently become very interested in real estate investment. Being a long time entrepreneur, I find it fascinating all of the creative and inventive ways in which methods have been developed to make the lethargic bureaucratic and bank dominated more efficient and helpful to everyone involved. 

I was told about BiggerPocket.com by a friend who is also interested and after spending some time on the site, I am astounded by the amount of resources, networking possibilities and collegiality by it's members. It's wonderful to see so many people help others, and ask nothing in return. 

I think that my desires aren't absolutely unique, in that I would like to get involved in wholesaling, rehabs/flips and multi-unit rental properties. Although ultimately I know I'll need to find a mentor to help me learn and guide me, I was very happy to find this very supportive online community where I can ask questions and search forums and blogs for answers to questions I have.
