Originally, the plan was to gut the existing structure leaving only the exterior walls, and do a whole new floor plan downstairs, working with existing window and exterior door openings (as much as possible.)  

But they have stuff in front front of the windows.

One sign to me is that there are no bars on the windows of my potential house or most of the houses around it. 

Domestic disputes are hard on walls, doors, and windows.  

This property had some upfront work to do for the one vacant unit (paint, new floors, and windows) so we will have to put in a bit more money into it.  

The house is in very good condition, it needs new flooring throughout, complete kitchen and bath remodel, the two smaller bedrooms are getting new closets (currently no closets in them, so I guess they aren't technically bedrooms), a little work in the basement (it's somewhat finished and I just want to spruce it up), new windows, new entry doors, and a new concrete pad in the garage. 

if you have a great local Contractors on your list, I would love to have them....windows, floor, roof, paint, heat...etc.  

I provide inexpensive vertical or horizontal blinds for privacy on townhomes and condos just due to the nature of communal living, but no curtains.
