You could still have a noisy neighbor close by regardless.Nothing in life is perfect people just have to decide on what they can accept as a tolerable condition and what they cannot and have to change. 

It really depends on your tolerance for this kind of thing.

A repeated pattern of this bothers me and I will not tolerate it.

If they did not pay on time and were irresponsible it was your responsibility to correct that behaviour not tolerate it.Did you advise them the first time they paid late that it would not be tolerated, when they paid late a second time did you serve them a eviction notice.

It sets expectations very quickly as to what will and will not be tolerated.

New tenants are told up front that I have no tolerance to tenants paying late, I specifically state that I expect to be paid on time ahead of all other personal commitments including bills, medicine and food.

Many landlords do not have the constitution to operate a business on this level and opt to tolerate tenant issues.Problem tenants are either corrected through strict training policies, tolerated or eliminated, it is the landlords choice.

However, my general thought on this issue (for everyone else looking in and trying to decide their risk tolerance) hasn't changed.

I agree I would have a few of these as backup as elderly cannot tolerate the heat..
