@Tyler DavisI think half of the value in showings is getting the chance to interact with the tenant, see how they carry themselves, see how clean they keep their car, etc. 

Your easiest and likely most reliable course of action is to call your local tax office and ask why your assessment doubled.

Since you "house hacked" that property until last year one half of that property would still qualify for the primary residence exemption.
