That's called "straw buying," which is illegal.What isn't illegal is that person buying the property, and paying you a "consulting fee" (or whatever you want to call it) and giving you a 1099, for finding that killer deal, which they will do because that's the best way they have to ensure you will bring them great deals in the future.Ultimately, if this is going to be your thing while building your credit, you may as well get out of the shadows and get a real estate agent license. :)

It looks like an older building so I'm not sure about the plumbing and wiring on the other side and whether that may as well be upgraded at the same time, whether it is on city sewer or septic, things like that.
